Welcome to Davey Visuals!

If you’ve ever taken on learning something for yourself, both practical and theory with the hopes of transitioning from your everyday job to follow your creative passion, then you’ll understand why and how every challenge you met helps you become more equipped and is worth the hurdle when you’re finally doing what you love.

That was me..

I bought my first  camera in 2003 while living at Ayers Rock wanting to get into photography. I did not know any of the fundamentals, I just knew that I had a passion for it. 
After life happened, I found myself in the small town of Goondiwindi where I approached a local professional photographer, Wayne Pratt, to ask if I could work in his studio for free to learn from him while still doing my day job. We ended up getting along really well and I got the opportunity to shoot weddings with him, learning the priceless values of thinking quick and working under pressure while being in the field alongside a professional with a wealth of experience, he still inspires me today.

 
Later on, a 5 week travel adventure through America and Mexico inspired me to build and create Discover Yourself Here Travel, which is a web series where we filmed in 4 different countries creating content from our epic adventures. This was incredible working with and learning from very talented freelance creatives and overcoming the challenges of overseas productions, negotiating filming permissions and all of the organising that goes into creating a travel show. This is the point where I went from mostly being in front of the camera, to learning everything I needed to know to be able to get behind the lens and become the creator where I then took on the filming/editing role for DYH Travel and where the massive challenges began. These shows were sometimes up to 1TB of footage, shot over 8 days with up to 5 different cameras.

This hands on experience has allowed me to get through many editing hurdles to now having an expansive understanding and work flow with a completely mobile editing work station that can handle all the creative tasks I've thrown at it very efficiently. 

After creating content in a wide variety of situations I am versatile and am willing to take on any project to create valuable content for people, businesses and brands.
